Reference and Research Assistance
Reference librarians, who generally have both JDs and graduate degrees in information science, are available to assist students in locating sources, using databases, developing research strategies, and finding a wide variety of information. Students may reach a reference librarian by visiting the Library, calling 702-895-2420, submitting a request online, or by contacting any of the library faculty directly.

Access to databases provided by the Library is available both on campus and remotely. To access the Library's online databases remotely, use the law school portal's list of Library databases. For assistance in using or accessing any of the online resources made available by the Library, students should contact Justin Iverson (firstname.lastname@example.org; 702-895-2317).

Study rooms are open to currently enrolled Boyd School of Law students and recent graduates preparing for the bar exam during the Library's hours of operation. The current hours of operation are 8:30am - 9:30pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 8:30am - 5:30pm from Friday to Saturday. Please visit the Law Library's homepage for a list of special holiday hours and closures.
Study rooms may be reserved here. You will be prompted for your MyBoydLaw username and password.
Circulation and Interlibrary Loan
Circulating materials may be checked out by Law students for three week periods. Students may renew items online for two subsequent three-week periods. Late fees are assessed on materials returned after the due date.
Materials not available in the Law Library's collections may be accessed at Lied Library or other campus libraries. Please consult the University Libraries catalog.
Interlibrary loan requests may be made for materials not available on campus by submitting the online form for books, articles or other materials.
Instruction and Outreach
From time to time the Library offers informal research instruction. Topics range from transactional practice research to foreign and international law research to cost-effective research strategies. Students may request trainings by contacting the Reference Desk (email@example.com; 702- 895-2420).
Services for Law Review
Materials needed for law review cite checks may be checked out on the law review account by any law review staff member.
Library faculty are available to provide training to law review staff on a variety of topics, including research methods and strategies, database use, interdisciplinary research sources, Bluebook citation format, and preemption checking.
Laptops are available for checkout to students of the William S. Boyd School of Law. Please visit the Library tab on MyBoydLaw for details, or ask a member of the Circulation Desk staff.
