The UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law offers a Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Gaming Law and Regulation. The LL.M. degree is a natural complement to the Boyd School of Law's existing Juris Doctor (J.D.) program, which already offers more gaming courses than any law school in the world.

As gaming continues to expand across the country and throughout the world, there is an increased need for talented and knowledgeable gaming lawyers. With our location in the international capital of gaming, you will gain access to globally renowned gaming professionals and regulators, observe and learn from cutting-edge debates and decision-making, and make lasting professional connections that will serve you well throughout your legal career.

Length of Program

The LL.M. requires twenty-four credits to graduate. Full-time students finish the program in one year; part-time students will typically finish in two years.

Curriculum

The LL.M. curriculum combines classroom instruction from some of the top gaming lawyers in the world with practical experience in the field of gaming law and regulation.

Who Should Apply

The LL.M. is open to prospective students who already hold a J.D., LL.B., or another first law degree from their home country. Domestic and international students are encouraged to apply.

Applying for LL.M.

Application Deadline: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the program is full.

To apply for the LL.M. in Gaming Law and Regulation, a complete application will include the following items:

  1. Signed and dated application form
  2. Nonrefundable $100 (US) application fee
  3. Personal Statement (2 - 3 pages) addressing your interest in the program
  4. Two letters of recommendation from an individual who knows you well and can discuss your academic achievements, professional work as a lawyer, or legal research and writing skills. Recommenders can write a narrative letter of recommendation or submit UNLV's recommendation form. Recommenders should provide their e-mail or telephone contact information.
  5. Current résumé including education, work experience, honors, and community service activities
  6. Official transcripts from all programs attended. International applicants can have their transcripts evaluated by WES
  7. For international applicants whose native language is not English, a TOEFL score is required
